Catering

Our school catering is provided by Dolce, an award-winning school food provider that has been delivering high-quality lunchtime experiences in schools across the UK since 1999.

Dolce has helped transform secondary school dining, bringing a high street-style food experience into the school environment. This is achieved through a combination of fresh, seasonal and varied menus, alongside modern and welcoming dining spaces.

Dolce’s approach focuses on creating a lunchtime experience that encourages every pupil to enjoy a healthy, hot meal.

Payment

Dolce uses an online system called SchoolGrid, which will replace our current meals portal.

The system will allow you to:

View menus
Pre-order meals
Manage payments and account balances
Record allergy and dietary information

All meal ordering will be managed through SchoolGrid.

Parents/carers can pre-order meals for their child either daily or in advance for the whole term. Pre-ordering helps Dolce reduce food waste and ensures that children receive their preferred meal choice wherever possible. Dolce recommends that meal choices are submitted before 8:55am on the day of service, although meals can be ordered well in advance through SchoolGrid.

You are responsible for ensuring sufficient funds are available within their child's SchoolGrid account before meals are ordered.

Online Card Payments:

A card payment can be made online through your SchoolGrid account. Please log on and select Account > Pay by Card, where the on-screen prompts will guide you through the payment process.

Meal Deal

A Meal Deal will cost £2.66 per day.

Breakfast

All students will be able to access a free breakfast each school day before lessons begin.

The free breakfast offer will include:

• Toast
• Cereal

Why are we introducing this?

As part of our Trust-wide partnership with Dolce, we are committed to supporting the wellbeing, attendance and achievement of every student.

A good breakfast can help students to:

• Start the day feeling energised and ready to learn
• Improve concentration and focus in lessons
• Support wellbeing and engagement throughout the school day
• Develop positive routines and punctual attendance
• Ensure all students have access to a nutritious start to the day

We know that a positive beginning to the morning can make a real difference, and we are pleased to be able to provide this opportunity free of charge to all students.

Allergies or Dietary Requirements

It is essential that parents/carers record their child's allergies on SchoolGrid so that meals can be provided safely.
If your child has an allergy outside the standard 14 allergens, or any additional dietary needs (such as vegan or halal requirements), please contact Dolce Customer Care, who will assist with updating this information.
If your child has a special diet or care plan, please speak to the school. Dolce's Area Manager will work closely with both the family and the school to ensure your child's needs are met safely.

Emergency Lunch Provision

In exceptional circumstances, where a pupil attends school without a pre-ordered meal and all reasonable attempts to contact a parent or carer have been unsuccessful, the school will provide an emergency lunch.

Please note that any emergency lunch provided will be chargeable to parents/carers. This provision is intended solely as a safeguarding measure to ensure that no pupil goes without food during the school day and should not be relied upon as an alternative to pre-ordering meals.

We respectfully ask that parents and carers ensure their child’s lunch is pre-ordered each day so that this provision is only required in rare and unforeseen circumstances.
