Nursery
Welcome to Early Years Foundation Stage
Our Foundation stage area comprises two classrooms for Nursery and Reception and an outside area which the children use daily. Nursery pupils attend on a part time basis and are accepted on the waiting list at any time. They may attend Nursery from the term they are 3, and we welcome children at the start of each term in September, January or April.
Statutory schooling commences in the September before the pupil's fifth birthday. There is one intake for Reception in September.
We aim to develop your child's knowledge, skills and understanding in different areas of learning in an environment where your child feels safe and secure.

Support for Potty Training
Potty training is an important milestone in a child’s development. We understand that all children develop at their own pace, but research shows it’s best for your child’s bowel and bladder health to stop using nappies, including reusable nappies, pull-ups, and training pants, between 18 and 30 months.
It’s really important that children are out of all nappies well in advance of starting Reception year in school. The only exception should be children with a diagnosed medical need, such as a bladder or bowel condition.
Being out of nappies not only helps children to feel confident, healthy and part of the group, it also means teachers can spend more time teaching and supporting children’s development in other ways.
