Welcome to Early Years Foundation Stage

 

Our Early Years Foundation Stage area comprises classrooms for Time for Twos, Nursery and Reception and a fantastic outside area which the children use daily. 

 

Time for Twos and Nursery children can attend on a part time (15 hours per week) or full-time (30 hours) basis and we can accept children on the waiting list at any time.

 

Children can attend Time for Twos from the term after they are 2 and Nursery from the term after they are 3.  We welcome children at the start of each term in September, January or April.

Statutory schooling commences in the September before the pupil's fifth birthday. There is one intake for Reception in September.  Please, contact Dudley to find out about mid-year admissions.

Support for Potty Training

​

Potty training is an important milestone in a child’s development. We understand that all children develop at their own pace, but research shows it’s best for your child’s bowel and bladder health to stop using nappies, including reusable nappies, pull-ups, and training pants, between 18 and 30 months.

​

It’s really important that children are out of all nappies well in advance of starting Reception year in school. The only exception should be children with a diagnosed medical need, such as a bladder or bowel condition.

​

Being out of nappies not only helps children to feel confident, healthy and part of the group, it also means teachers can spend more time teaching and supporting children’s development in other ways.
